Dan TaylorEmail: danforburleson@gmail.com Because Burleson is a great city, continued growth is inevitable so strategic planning for that growth is an absolute necessity. Public safety, higher education opportunities, parks, recreation and quality of life, economic development and recruiting industry vital to that development, streets with proper drainage, waste management, and finding ways to insure low tax rates are my top priorities. Partnering with the school district for the safety of our children is a must. I plan to work with other council members to address these issues and to insure that the future of Burleson is bright. As a former newspaper publisher I was always interested in and made sure we reported on city government. Managing a city is in many ways is like managing a business or a newspaper and involves many of the same skills. Financial management, communication, leadership, problem solving, negotiation and marketing are some of the skills I’m prepared to offer, given the opportunity. I strongly believe in community involvement. I’m a member of the Burleson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and a chamber Ambassador, member and past-president of the Burleson Rotary Club and a member of the Burleson Parks Board.
