Email: learforaisd@gmail.com One of our biggest challenges is managing the continued growth that is coming to Aledo ISD combined with our already crowded schools. Regrettably, recent decisions and poor communication have created a lack of trust within the community, which only makes solving for these issues and others more challenging. I believe we need to provide more transparency to the community, improve communication and build a track record of consistency and positive outcomes. This will help us get ahead of the challenges we face and build trust for future decisions. I believe my professional skill-set that would be a good complement for the Board. My background is in Accounting and Finance with 20 years of work experience in a variety of levels and roles. I am a licensed CPA and a small-business owner. I am a father of two girls in the 7th and 4th grade. We have been in the District since 2011 and I have regularly attended School Board meetings since 2015 and have volunteered on citizens committees and other Aledo school-related organizations.
I believe the combination of these perspectives make me the best candidate for this office.

Trust is the top priority. In our growth, we have unfortunately alienated some. I am excited to have hired a new superintendent, and I want to be able to work with Dr Susan Bohn in keeping AISD great. The role of a school board must set the tone so the administrators we supervise are effective and accountable to our students, teachers, and families we serve. It is critical that we work on trust with our parents and remind community of neighbors (families and businesses) that we are all in this together as we grow. My top priority is trust. My experience as a returning member of the school board, and I that I have taken significant training and education to serve Aledo better makes me the most qualified. I have volunteered with several large charities for our schools too and helped raise 1.5 million dollars for Aledo with AEF. Also, I was a financial planner in the past and understand budgets and large contracts we deal with. Finally, I have 4 children enrolled here, where I still volunteer on campuses almost every week. This enables me to understand what is happening as we educate students in Aledo. It is an honor to be able to help.

My overall goal is to ensure a quality educational experience that prepares children for success in life, fiscal responsibility that provides value to the students, parents and taxpayers in a safe and secure environment. My top priority would be the safety and security of the children, staff, and facilities of the Aledo ISD for without safety and security the other goals have no meaning. My experience as an Army officer gave me leadership, administrative, and physical security skills. As a Deputy Regional Administrator for the Federal government with responsibility for a five-state area, I have the ability to work within a bureaucracy, or around it. As an academic/researcher I have knowledge and experience in the areas of human performance, organizational leadership, and management. These experiences have given me a unique set of skills that will be of value as a board trustee.
