Virtual seminar on interactions with police

August 2 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm CDT

City of Fort Worth:

Join a free virtual seminar, “Serve & Protect: I Am Not A Threat,” hosted by District 8 City Councilmember Kelly Allen Gray and LaRhonda Young. Participants will hear from police officers and engage in a question-and-answer session to better understand their role when interacting with police officers.

The virtual seminar will be conducted 2-4 p.m. Aug. 2 via Webex. Register online.

Two informative sessions will be led by experts in their fields:
Session 1: Interacting with Police and Knowing Your Rights. Led by retired Texas Department of Public Safety Officer Charles Beckworth.
Session 2: Levels of Resistance. Led by Fort Worth Police Officer Brandon Morris.

The event will be moderated by Brian Ayers, Joseph J. Moseley II, Ryland Gray and Kendyll Locke.

“This event was created for people in the community to learn more about interacting with the police,” Gray said. “This is not an open forum for residents to express their anger. Anyone who is disrespectful during the event will be removed and organizers will be heavily monitoring the chat.”
